973.932 – Obama, Barack, 1961-

I found nearly 100 biographies of President Barack Obama published for children and teens between 2007 and 2010. It doesn’t make sense to purchase books published before the president was elected. It also doesn’t make sense for libraries with small budgets to purchase from the glut of unreviewed, very expensive school series publications. What follows is a few recommendations of books that received positive reviews, or are in a series of books that usually receives a reasonable recommendation from the Horn Book Guide (3 or 4). I would also purchase paper wherever possible, so that it is easier to weed and replace as more and better books are published.
